El Paso Crime Lab
EL PASO CRIME LAB
Advancing the Science of Public Safety.
The El Paso Crime Lab is an independent public research project created by Matthew Durán. The project brings together research, local data, and public information to better understand crime and public safety in El Paso and the Borderland.
About the Project
The El Paso Crime Lab exists to make research and local public safety information more accessible.
The project focuses on understanding local public safety problems through evidence. It brings together publicly available data, academic research, and community information to examine issues affecting El Paso and the surrounding region.
The work is independent and primarily intended as a resource for people who want to better understand crime, policing, and public safety in the Borderland.
Rather than simply presenting statistics, the goal is to provide context, explain what the data can—and cannot—tell us, and make research findings accessible to a broader audience.
